I've been a professional photographer for over thirteen years. Currently I am the official photographer for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and also continue to enjoy working with diverse clients such as V&A Dundee, The Gleneagles Hotel, Scottish Ballet, Scottish Opera, House of Frasers and PR firms Wave PR, The Big Partnership and Consolidated as well as the Universities of Edinburgh and Stirling, just to name a few.
Prior to this I was a staff photographer with the Herald and Times Group for eight years. In that time I was shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards, the UK Picture Editors Guild and the Scotrail Press Photography Awards. Working in print media has taken me as far afield as Libya, Democratic Republic of Congo, Jordan, and Bosnia and afforded me a wide range of assignments, from high fashion to junior football and everything in between.
I also love photographing weddings and bring with me a genuine enthusiasm while utilising my lighting techniques and editorial skills honed on many fashion and feature shoots. Weddings are not photoshoots, they are unique and highly personal events and therefore my approach is to capture the key moments and story of the day in a warm and in-obstrusive manner. Of course I am also happy to provide high quality set-up portraits with a natural vibe for those who do not like posing (most people).
